Forklift Training Courses
Aims and Outcomes
This course aims to give candidates the necessary skills and knowledge to plan, prepare and operate a forklift safely and efficiently in accordance with the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work. On completion of this course candidates will be able to conduct routine checks; plan work; check controls, operate, shift various load types and shut down a forklift truck.
Pre-Requisite
Licence applicants must be 18 years of age and be physically capable of performing forklift activities. A basic level of English and a basic understanding of mathematics will also be required.
Course Content
The Forklift course is mapped to the nationally recognised unit of competency:
TLILIC0003 Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck
- Legislation, Australian Standards, National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work, guidance notes and company forklift procedures.
- Company risk management procedures and forklift risk control
- Forklift types and capacity requirements, stability attachments, workplace hazards and controls relevant to forklift operation.
- Forklift components, pre-start/pre-operation checks, data plate identification/interpretation, operating procedures, shift loads.
- Shift various loads, perform stacking at different heights and load/unload truck, shut down/post operational checks carried out, parking up.
Certification
Successful candidates will be awarded the Nationally Recognised unit of competency TLILIC0003 Licence toOperate a Forklift Truck, recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). A Licence to Perform High Risk Work, class LF will also be issued upon application to Workplace Standards Tasmania

Cost
$495.00 per person
Reassessment
Students who do not successfully complete the course assessment or who are deemed not ready for assessment during the regular course time frame will require an additional assessment. Additional costs will apply to any additional assessments.
Cancellations
A cancellation fee will not be charged for courses cancelled or rescheduled no less than 5 working days prior to the course start date. For courses cancelled less than 5 days prior to the start date a cancellation fee of 50% of the course cost will be charged. For courses cancelled less than 2 days prior to the start date a cancellation fee of 100% of the course cost will be charged. Full course fees will be charged for “no shows” and participants who start a course but do not complete it.
