This course aims to ensure successful candidates can safely and competently operate a non-slewing crane on site. On completion of the course participants will be able to perform pre-operational checks; set-up and operate the crane competently; shut down and dismantle and perform various operations competently.
It is desirable that you hold a High-Risk Licence in Dogging (DG). Licence applicants must be 18 years of age and be physically capable of performing the tasks of a non-slewing crane operator. A basic level of English and a moderate understanding of mathematics will also be required.
The non-slewing crane operator course is mapped to the Nationally Recognised unit of competency:
TLILIC0040 Licence to Operate a Non-Slewing Mobile Crane greater than 3 tonnes Capacity
Successful candidates will be awarded the Nationally Recognised unit of competency, TLILIC0040 Licence to Operate a Non-Slewing Mobile Crane greater than 3 tonnes Capacity recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). A Licence to Perform High Risk Work, class CN will also be issued upon application to WorkSafe Tasmania
