Working Safely at Heights

Course Aim

Our nationally accredited height safety training course is designed for persons who are required to work at height. Participants will develop skills to select height safety equipment and apply it to specific tasks.


Our height safety training course covers how to work in accordance with height safety regulations, Australian Standards and relevant codes of practice. Participants will have an understanding of risk assessment procedures and permits to work at height. Participants who undertake our height safety training course will also undergo practical instruction in the correct use of height safety equipment.

Course Content

RIIWHS204E Work safely at heights, includes:

  • WH&S legislation, height safety regulations, codes of practice & Australian standards
  • Correct use of height safety equipment
  • Elevated Work Platforms and scaffolds
  • Case studies from industry
  • Risk assessment & hierarchy of hazard control
  • Management & employee responsibilities
  • Fall arrest devices & safety equipment
  • Safe ladder techniques
  • Equipment inspection & maintenance requirements
  • Setting up a fall arrest restraint system
  • Emergency procedures including height rescue procedures
  • Suspension trauma
  • Developing site procedures & safe work methods

Certification

Successful candidates will be awarded the Nationally Recognised unit of competency RIIWHS204E Work safely at heights, recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

1 Day.

12 persons


Cost:

$250 per person. GST exempt


Reassessment

Students who do not successfully complete the course assessment or who are deemed not ready for assessment during the regular course timeframe will require an additional assessment. Additional costs will apply to any additional assessments. 


Cancellations

A cancellation fee will not be charged for courses cancelled or rescheduled no less than 5 working days prior to the course start date. For courses cancelled less than 5 days prior to the start date a cancellation fee of 30% of the course cost will be charged. For courses cancelled less than 1 day prior to the start date a cancellation fee of 50% of the course cost will be charged. Full course fees will be charged for “no shows” and participants who start a course but do not complete it
