This course aims to ensure successful candidates can safely and competently operate a Self-Erecting Tower Crane on site. On completion of the course participants will be able to conduct risk assessments, perform pre-operational checks, plan lifting operations, operate the crane competently and shut down the crane.
Licence applicants must be 18 years of age and be physically capable of performing the tasks of a Self-Erecting Tower Crane operator. A basic level of English and mathematics will also be required.
The Tower Crane operator course is mapped to the Nationally Recognised unit of competency:
CPCCLTC4002 Licence to Operate a Self-Erecting Tower Crane
Successful candidates will be awarded the Nationally Recognised unit of competency, CPCCLTC4002 Licence to Operate a Self-Erecting Tower Crane recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). A Licence to Perform High Risk Work, class CS will also be issued upon application to WorkSafe Tasmania.
